How many of you remember Di Gangi's Grinders, down on Holt?  The best sandwich ever.  Does anyone remember Roger's black, 1936 Buick, with the suicide doors, crushed velvet seats.....spent many a night "cruzin"  Gary Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.  Most of all can you remember that infectious smile and sense of humor?

Roger died of a heart attack at his home in El Cajon, California, at a very young age of 33 years. sad

Next time I am in El Cajon, I plan on stopping in THE GRINDER, on Second Street, for a great sandwich and maybe to remeniss a bit withn the new owners.

Loved their grinders and Roger was an all around good guy. Too young to have left us and is greatly missed!

It is so sad to hear that Roger passed away, especially at such a young age. I didn't really know him but saw that he was friendly and well liked. He was one of the guys who would smile when he passed by. Our family and friends were at their place of bussiness to enjoy their Grinders many many times, and just thinking about the times we were there bring back memories from the past. Rest in Peace Roger, my condolenses to your family and friends, I am sure you are still missed after all of this time. ~ Cathy Cordova, Class of 1965~

I didn't know Roger well, but, yes, I remember his smile...and the grinders!  Sorry to hear he died at such a young age.

DiGangi's Grinders were the Best Subs ever!  whenever we were in the area we would stop and pick up a few for supper, or lunch. DiGangi's is one of those places that I'll always remember and Roger too with his "sleeper" Buick, Suicide Doors and Crushed Velvet Tuck & Roll upholstery. (I think)  Fond memory's
