I was a super shy freshman who had around 2 or 3 friends going into Highschool. I was really nervous on the first day and even saw the dreaded "fresh meat" sign as I walked up the hallways. At my first rally it was very interesting seeing each grade level separated by color and placement in the gym. It was super loud and I felt overwhelmed by the noise but excited. Then I started hearing the seniors chant "sit down freshman" and thought it was important so I actually did sit down. But then I realized everyone was laughing at me and a few others who also did it! I remember feeling so silly and humiliated for listening (apparently it’s something seniors always do at rallies to welcome the "freshies"). But… when I became a Senior guess what I did? And guess what? We also got a bunch of freshman to sit down too!

My German teacher of 4-years Frau Tsai (Jennifer Tsai)! Inspired me to branch out and explore more languages. Also gave me more confidence to work towards my goals, find a fulfilling career I enjoy, and be an overall happy person in life. My band teacher Mrs.G (Riley G) whom I had in middle school and freshman year was also a huge inspiration. She made me love all aspects of music and really challenge myself to get better at my instrument (clarinet) which eventually helped me become section leader. She also gave me better self-confidence and a quote I live by; "Early is on time and on time is late."
