Mrs. Hull was a tough, no nonsense teacher, but in later years I fully appreciate her style.

I am an avid reader, and remember many of the principles of writing and grammar that she taught.

My life has been fuller because of her teachings.  Thank you Mrs. Hull!

If I had to select the CHS teachers that most influenced my life, Cornelia Hull would be first on my list followed closely by David Stern.  Mrs. Hull maintained strict control in her classroom but because she lived within easy walking distance of my home, I would occasionally stop by to get clarification of a subject I did not fully understand.  She was consistently gracious, patient and welcoming.  When I think of an English teacher who better than anyone taught me to write effectively while still holding my attention in class, Mrs. Hull stands out as extraordinary.

David Stern, as I recall taught Senior Problems or perhaps Social Studies, but his teaching subject is not important here.  Mr. Stern was fun and sincere, always conducting his class with a wonderful smile and a comfortable presense that made you want to learn. I especially remember his fastidious appearance: a freshly ironed dress shirt, appropriate tie and stylish sport coat.  While I never mentioned to him how much his dress impressed me, I've never forgotten the importance of dress and being careful to wear clothers appropriate to a particular occasion.

Both Cornelia Hull and Irene Mahoney were fabulous teachers who really knew how to teach! I learned so much from their classes that has served me well in my life's journey. I am ever grateful to them!
