About me/us (Hobbies, interests, life philosophy, etc.) :
Pursuing actively a career in medicine. Grandfather and Uncle were Physicians. While at Claremont High School my Uncle was a resident of Claremont since 1969 and was my inspiration to become like my OBGYN Grandfather and like him a Physical Medicine Physician- Director of Kaiser Permanente Riverside and the Casa Colina Rehabilitative Hospital, and board member of the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden (California Botanic Garden). These two family members influenced my career path in profound ways and made a significant impact on my identity and ideological world view. Integrative medicine and advocacy of holistic health for the individual has become my focal point through my Master’s degree program in American Indian Public Health and will be my focus in the Indigenous Health PhD I’m pursuing as well as medical school admission and completion. Oh how I wish I had paid attention and tried harder in Dr. Walkers biology class. Claremont High School was the ideal place to prepare me for what I’m pursing now. Once I have children I will try to impress upon them the importance of doing their best early and not waiting to begin in their mid-forties.
