Kathleen McGrath Crabbe

I just read the post about Missy Rait.  I did not know she had died until I looked closely at the photos from the recent reunion and her name was on the "In Memorium" list.  It shocked me as I had re-connected with Missy just a few years ago.  She and I had been very close during high school - played lots of sports together and got into a fair amount of trouble together.  I was a bridesmaid in her wedding to David Wilder in about 1968, and she was a bridesmaid in my 1968 wedding as well.   David was an Alaska Airlines pilot and they lived in Puyallup, WA for several years and I think that's where she had her two children.  I'm not sure when they split up, but I know her kids meant the world to her.  She lived for several years on Bainbridge Island, which coincidentally is where my younger brother lives with his wife and two children.  In researching online it looks like in about 2022, she got some kind of "terminal cancer", as her daughter Libby called it and she died two years later, but she did not identify the type of cancer.  When I was in touch with her at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, we had a lot of fun reminiscing about the things we did.  She was a great free spirit that I loved dearly.
