I knew Steve & I knew about his many health struggles due to exposure to Agent Orange, and he fought every day to overcome these problems with his health in his later days. May you Rest In Peace, my friend and brother.

I grew up across the street from the Hargrove family. I don't think I could count the number of summer nights we played outside until it was dark. Knowing people all these decades is so comforting and familiar. Thank you Stephen for your service. May you rest in peace. God Bless.

Steve always had a friendly grin or BIG smile on his face, ear-to-ear!  Never was there a more genuine, thoughful, honest and caring gentleman than Steve!  In the six short years from Jr. High through High School he left a lasting imprint on me.  He was always 'friendly & FUN', and he was a Friend who protected others in their times of need.  He was a natural guardian.

I think 'our 'generation' has a sense of remorse and guilt that heroes like Steve suffured from the effects of war.  There is so much admiration and gratitude, (yet sadness), that men who honorably served for US suffered some lasting consequences.  Nonetheless, he kept seving and contributing to his communities - probably until his last moments.

For an impression of what he would want as a Legacy, would be to honor all those things he held sacred in his life such has his Family, Friends, passions & pursuits.  Sending Aloha hugs to Laura, his wife, and wishes to all those close to Steve.

In tribute, the song 'Now we are Free' comes to mind - Rest In Peace, Courageous Gentleman heart
