David passed after a short illness in 2024. He leaves two daughters, Andrea and Alicia. These girls were very close to their father, and he was so proud of them. He was a brilliant and talented man. We will miss his hugs and stories. May he rest in peace.
David and I were married for 13 years. We were high school sweethearts and our early years were filled with hope and we enjoyed our life to the fullest! We remained friends and co-parented two beautiful daughters, Andrea Lynn and Alicia Michele.
I have loved the Maxwell family for many years and I am especially grateful for the love and help we recieved from Dave's sister and brothers as David was making his transition. It wasn't easy but together he was given lots of love, good care, hugs and some great laugher! .
I remember David as a kind and gentle father. He was multi-talented and could fix just about anything. He had a brillant mind and music was his love. He was self taught playing many musical instruments by ear. The Piano and guitar were his favorites. He was athletic and played serveral kinds of sports, including swimming, tennis, and water sking. He loved boating in the Colorado River. Our girls learned to water ski at an early age so off to the river we went on a yearly basis with our orange van pulling our blue boat behind.
David loved the outdoors and after he retired from the Post Office he took advantage of outdoor living. He created an outdoor space with plenty of seating for those who wanted to come by to share a story or taste his creative cusine. He was a great cook!
I noticed how David quieitly loved his family during the years. He is certainly missed.
Sorry to learn of Dave's passing. Carolyn's thoughtful, well written Tribute does him deserved justice.
Dave stepped forward to befriend me when I was new to Claremont our Sophmore year. We had a class together, sat across from one another, and he always greeted me with a smile and was quick to strike up a conversation. He seemed genuinely interested in me and my background and made me feel welcome. In a sea of unknown faces, it was all a very welcome respite.
