George E. Cardiel, 43, of Riverside, passed away September 14, 2004.  He was born in Pomona, Calif. February 18, 1961. 

He was raised in Claremont, where he attended Claremont High School. George was a self-employed plumber and a hard worker. He loved his family, music, spectator sports, dirt bike riding and cooking. George was an avid gardener, known for his green thumb. 

He is survived by his parents, Arthur and Norma Cardiel of La Verne; his wife of 21 years, Cathey Ellis; two sons, George Jr. and Eric; a daughter, Marlena; two grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Jr. of Oxnard, Frank of Upland; four sisters, Nancy Gonzales of Lake Shasta, Debra Miller of Mesa, Ariz., Carrie Bates of Montclair, Lisa Campos of Claremont; godfather, Uncle Les Trotter and godson, Jamie Gonzales; great uncle John Navarro and aunt Mary Lou Dominiguez; and many loving nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2004 with services at 10 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 9950 Monte Vista Ave., Montclair. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier. "Although you are gone from our sight, you will be forever in our hearts. We love you." Inland Memorial, Riverside is handling arrangements.
