In El Roble junior high school we met one day by bumping shoulders as we walked passed each other on the way to class--two angry kids simmering beneath the surface on that day at the moment--and a fist fight ensued as a large crowd watched. We both got suspended from school. In my junior year at Claremont High we "bumped" into each other again, but this time we had a short but friendly conversation.I never really got to know him, but he seemed like a nice guy who I'm sorry died so young.
