I remember Eugene from Summer Theater with Don Freuchte. Those were the days of Sam Comstock, Kate Leyden and a wonderful girl who was Don's assistant. Eugene was always kind and fun to be with. How very sad that he should have been taken at such an early age. Fondly from Mary Hart.
This is the hardest memory for me to write, as we were dating after our graduations. It was Fall of 1976 when he passed, after a year-long battle with a brain tumor. We never stopped believing that he could beat it and despite having to relearn many functions after the initial surgery, he continued to enjoy his life. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him and wonder what he would have made of life, given more time.
