David (90) was born to Chauncy and Ruth Hoag in Jackson, Michigan and moved to Southern California where he attended Claremont Junior College and studied photography in Los Angeles. During World War II, David was a member of the 8th Air Force, 34th Bomb Group. David married Virginia Bruch of Clarkston, Washington June 20, 1934. David and Virginia made their home in Spokane, Washington where they resided until his death. David retired from the Old National Bank in 1981 as Assistant Vice President. 

David is survived by his spouse Virginia; sons Richard (Marla) Hoag of Kennewick, Washington, Robert (Ruth) Hoag of Overland Park, Kansas; grandsons Brandon Hoag, Brian (Kara) Hoag of Kennewick, Washington; granddaughters Amy (Greg) Sloan of Boise, Idaho, Kimberly Hoag of Overland Park, Kansas, Megan (Todd) Williams of Lenexa, Kansas; and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Busby of Berkeley, California and sister-in-law Eugenia Hoag, Clarkston, Washington. 
 
There will be a public visitation at the Ball and Dodd Funeral Home, Spokane, Washington, Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 9-10 AM with a funeral service at 10 AM. Graveside service will held at 2:30 PM at the Vineland Cemetery, Clarkston, Idaho.
