Oh my gosh I am so, so deeply sorry to hear this.  Just yeseterday after realizing I hadn't seen any recent Facebook posts from Alan I literally went to his Facebook page to see if I missed anything and feeling as I did, I hoped he was ok.   My deepest, deepest condolences to his family.

My dearest friend, Alan Elson was indeed a friend to all! Some background. After his time at Citrus College and  the US Navy, he married and settled in Palm Springs.  He raised his family and built a very successful locksmith business!

His amazing positive outlook on life, and his deep, recognizable laugh were his trademarks! One of his passions was poker nights with close friends! Many of these close friends were also locksmiths, because that is how Al was...a friend to all!

When I asked him "how are you?", he would answer, "I am grateful for every day that I have!"

His daughter, Harlo and family live in Redlands, and his son, Adam and family live in Idaho. His brother, Jacob and family are still in the Palm Springs area.

As you can imagine, his greatest joys were his grandchildren!  He would never tire of showing me his latest pictures of all of them!

Alan and I were in 6th grade together at Condit School, and when I look at the class picture of all of us trying to balance on bleachers, , there are so many '68' people that were also in this class. Our teacher was Mr. Hyatt.

Alan passed away of complications from Congestive Heart failure and Covid.at the Loma Linda VA Hospital.

His family was with him when he left all of us.

I miss him every day, and once in awhile, I look at my phone, wishing that I would receive one of his messages letting me know that it was time for us to meet for our traditional "catch up" lunch or dinner!

Love and friendship always,  Denise Trask

Sorry to hear this and condolences to his family and all who were his friends.  In spite of his health challenges he maintained a positive outlook and appreicated each day as a gift.  His firendship will be missed by all who knew him.

We became acquainted when we were teammates on the JV basketball team during the 66-67 season. He played hard and seldom without a smile. Off the court he always seemed to have a kind word for me.
Later in life I always thought about Alan whenever I would see Freddie Mercury. Alan was definitely one of the good guys. Adios, amigo
