We received the following email from Candy's sister, Kristin, sharing the sad news of Candy's passing:
I am contacting you to let you know that my sister, Candy, passed away in August 2014 after a four year battle with appendix cancer.
She had been a beloved elementary and middle school teacher for many years, most recently in Rancho Cucamonga, where she had lived since the 1970's. Candy was blessed with a rich life, which included a large and lasting family. Candy married her high school boyfriend, Fred Feezell (CHS 1968) shortly after college. Together they had two sons, Dan and Eric. She later married Tony Baldridge with whom she adopted three more children from Russia, Julia, Anastasia and Ksenia.
She left behind a large circle of family and friends, including her husband, Tony Baldridge, her son, Dan and his wife, Jessica, and their son, Miles; her son Eric and his wife, Caitlin and their daughter, Holly; her daughter, Julia and her husband, Ray, and their daughter, Marilyn; her daughters, Anastasia and Ksenia; two step-sons, Jason and his wife, Amanda; and Justin; three sisters, Sharrie, Suzanne and Kristin; and many life-long friendships including her ex-husband, Fred, and his sister, Susan Feezell Underwood (CHS 1966).
Candy was widely loved and had many, many friends. She and Tony loved to entertain in their beautiful backyard in Rancho Cucamonga and, fittingly, a memorial gathering for Candy in that same setting lasted for over ten hours. We started at lunchtime and ended up by ordering pizzas for the many friends and family who continued to honor her late into the evening. She lived an amazing life that ended too soon and she will be missed by many people for years to come.
