Kathy succumbed to lymphoma in 2003. She has a great legacy in her beautiful children - Tim Jones, Kellen Jones, Toby Jones, Michael Barkley

Kathy's first husband was Donald "Don" Stuart Jones (CHS 1964), a Major in the US Marine Corps. He died in a non-hostile (F-4 Phatom) jet crash in North Atlantic Ocean in 1980 at the age of 33.
