In Loving Memory of Catherine Dianne Van Diest 1959 – 2025
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life, we announce the tragic passing of Dianne Van Diest, age 66, who was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 13, 2025, alongside her beloved husband of 21 years, Curtis Van Diest.
Dianne was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, supportive sister, and faithful friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Alan, and her granddaughter, Lilian. She is survived by her mother, Martha; her children, Nicolas (Ginger), Nicole (Matt), and Natalie (Ryan); her treasured grandchildren: Seth, Aiden, Weston, Jackson, soon-to-arrive baby boy Baker, Madison, and Maeve; and her siblings, Breck and Lisa. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith that lives on in the countless lives she touched.
Dianne dedicated more than 30 years to teaching, impacting generations of students with her warmth, wisdom, and passion for education. Even after retiring from full-time teaching, she continued serving as a substitute in the Humble Independent School District, always finding joy in guiding young minds. Most recently, she found deep purpose in helping care for and homeschool her two grandsons; a role that brought her immeasurable fulfillment and joy.
As a devoted member of Providence Community Church, Dianne poured her heart into children’s ministry and faithfully served in the Kairos Prison Ministry, sharing hope and the love of Christ with those in dark places behind prison walls. Her faith was not just something she believed, it was something she lived out every day with humility, grace, and compassion.
Dianne will be remembered for her gentle spirit, servant’s heart, and the way she made others feel seen, safe, and loved. Her life was a reflection of God’s love—steadfast, selfless, and full of light.
