ROBERT "BOB" EVERETT LILES was born on March 11, 1930 at Pomona Valley Hospital to Everett & Laura Liles. He died on Oct. 30, 2009 at Mt. San Antonio Gardens Health Center where he had resided over 4-1/2 years. 

He grew up in Claremont, and attended Sycamore Elementary and Claremont High School, graduating in 1948. He was very involved in sports, and was a 4 years letterman in baseball, 3 years in football, and 2 years in track and basketball. He was captain of the basketball team his senior year.  After high school he attended Chaffey College & Oregon State University. 
 
He enlisted in the Navy in September 1950 for 4 years.  He attended electronics school at Treasure Island and then served aboard a destroyer tank in Japan and Korea. 
 
In 1949, he started dating Ruth "Annette" Harper (CHS 1950).  They were married in February 1952 at Claremont Congregational Church. 
 
In October of 1962 he went to work for Pomona First Federal Savings & Loan as an appraiser.  He transferred to the Loan Division in 1964.  He retired in April, 1993 as Executive Vice President and Chief Loan Officer.  He was a charter member of Claremont Lions Club and served as president the 3rd year.  He served on the board and finance committee of  LeRoys Boys' Home for serveral years.  In 1987 he went on the Foundation Board at Casa Colina and served until 2001. 
 
After retirement, the couple traveled, played golf, and attended grandchildren's activities acros the U.S.  Due to failing health, he moved into the Health Center at Mt. San Antonio Gardens in 2006.  
 
In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by 5 children;  son Robert (CHS 1971) Silver Spring, MO;  Laura Lynette (CHS 1977) (Gary) Meeker, Tuscon, AZ;  Thomas, Pomona;  Leesa (CHS 1982) (Bryan) Lamb, Vista, CA; Janice (CHS 1982) (Jon) Mortenson, Laguna Niguel; and 6 grandchildren; Troy Meeker, Laura Liles, Jason Lamb, Ashlee Lamb, Brent Mortenson and Todd Mortenson; and his brother Richard Liles (CHS 1951) La Verne, CA. 
 
No services will be held. Donations in his name may go to Casa Colina Foundation, 255 E. Bonita, Pomona, CA 91769.
