Larry (Amin) Logan (Whitehorse)

1937 - 2014

Amin Whitehorse was born Larry Logan in Topeka Kansas on September 16, 1937. He died on St Patrick’s Day, Monday March 17th in Albuquerque New Mexico.

Amin followed his dreams throughout his life. He was a passionate, creative and social person. He fulfilled many dreams including being a father,  a photographer and filmmaker, a high school teacher, getting a master’s degree in philosophy and starting his own high school. He had a brilliant mind and studied many philosophies and religions. He lived much of his life in California (CHS '65) and New Mexico. He was a free spirit who loved to wander outdoors in nature in the mountains, forests, deserts, beaches and underwater.

He is survived by his son, David, and daughter, Diana, and grandchildren Rhiannon and Belinda, and stepdaughter Daniela and stepgrandchildren Jacob, Breanna and Nicolas.

The family would like to give thanks to the caregivers at Paloma Blanca Health and Rehabilitation in Albuquerque where he lived for the last seven years and made many friends, to Hospice De La Luz and to Direct Funeral Services.

There was no funeral but many joined us from wherever they were in observing a minute of silence to remember Amin, this past Sunday March 23rd 2014 at 4:00 pm Mountain Time(6pm EDT, 5pm CDT, 3pm PDT)

Larry had a a wonderfully bright and inquisitive mind,  a real zest for the world around him, and a lovely sense of humor. On Saturday nights at Dr. Larkin's "Science seminars" he demonstrated his love for learning and his ability to synthesize facts into ideas. Beyond that, he was simply a delignt to be around. Ave, friend.
