What this small obituary doesn't mention is his stint at Stanford. I don't know whether Marty graduated or not, but he truly was a brilliant lad. As a San Jose State coed, I was fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of his never ending humor....Valentine's Day...a beef heart...sent via slow USPS shipping..it was quite ripe upon its arrival....another day...received in the US mail, much to the excitement and anticipation of any arriving package by all of my boarding house roommates...2 LIVE African water frogs..who continued to live on as the boarding house pets...and a special thank you for my Quebec, Canada, fake driver's license...a college must-have.
Sadly, we lost touch..but he will ALWAYS be remembered as kind, brilliant and thoughtful.
