Charleene sure made Advanced Algebra/Trig such a fun class in 1962. I also had the pleasure of Chem with her. I will never forget her laughter. I kept telling her to check out the guy who sits behind me in Trig. She did! They married. Rest in peace.
On the last day of Trig Class, our senior year Char asked me... Mike are you never going to ask me out. I was a simple minded 17 year old school boy and had not picked up on clues she had been giving me all year. For the next year we became unseperable and got married in the summer of 1963. Our plan was for me to work as an electrician and put her through College first. Then she would find a good paying job and it would be my turn. We had a fine son named Ryan in '66 and moved to Colorado in June 1968. After only a couple of weeks we decided to return to SoCal. On the way back she pleaded with me to let her drive the last thirty miles to Delta Colorado, where we would spend the night. She oversteered our Ford Bronco while pulling a U-haul trailer around a sharp corner rolling us over. The best person, God ever created, my high school sweetheart, died in my arms minutes later from a broken neck. Love you babe... always will. Mike
