Age 46, of Claremont died on July 22, 2011 of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. David was born on November 27, 1964 at Pomona Valley Hospital, and lived in the San Gabriel/Pomona Valley for most of his life. David attended Chino and Claremont schools and graduated from Claremont High School in 1982. David received a BA in Accounting from Cal Poly Pomona, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.

David is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Elrod Stickels of Claremont; son, Matthew Stickels; and former wife, Josiane Stickels of La Crescenta; sister, Carol Stickels Bradford and her husband, Chris Bradford of Los Angeles; aunts, Docia Elrod Everett, Carla Sue Rawski and Mary Julich; and 10 cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. James Stickels.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on August 2, 2011, at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario. Draper's Mortuary in Ontario is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David's memory to the CHS Theatre Renovation Project (David was Winthrop in the 1979 CHS production of "The Music Man" after all) or by check to CHS Theatre Renovation Project, CUSD, 170 W San Jose Ave, Claremont CA 91711, attn Karen Waltman.

After the service, the family will be host a lunch reception at the Claremont United Church of Christ at 233 W. Harrison. You are welcome to join the family to remember David.
