RONALD "POPPY" LEWMAN 

Ronald Clarence Lewman, born January 2, 1939 in Ontario, CA went to be with the Lord, passing away peacefully at his home in Hesperia on February 26, 2013 at the age of 74 after battling cancer.

He married his wife Janet on December 1, 1962 and they were married 50 years at the time of his passing. They raised 4 children together.

He worked for the City of Hesperia as a Building Inspector for 18 years until retiring.

He loved going deep sea fishing and on his last trip out he won the "pot" by catching the largest fish.

He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Garten of Apple Valley, a daughter, Kim Watson of Junction City, OR, a son, Mark Lewman and his wife Marcy of Cottage Grove, OR, a son, Steve Lewman of Hesperia, CA. Survivors also include 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Per Poppy's wishes, he will be cremated with no service or memorial.

Ronald “Poppy” Lewman, 74, died Feb. 26, 2013 at his home in Hesperia, Calif. after battling cancer.

He was born Jan. 2, 1939 in Ontario, Calif. to Clarence and Dorothy (Dunn) Lewman.

On Dec. 1, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he and Janet Ellison were married.

Mr. Lewman was a roofer for 30 years, 14 of which were when he had Quality Roofing in Cottage Grove. In 1981, he moved to Hesperia to be a building inspector for the City of Hesperia for 18 years until retiring in 2006.

He loved to go deep sea fishing. On his last trip, he won the “pot” by catching the largest fish.

Survivors include his wife, Janet of Hesperia, four children, Kathy Lewman Garten of Apple Valley, Calif., Kim Lewman Watson of Junction City, Ore., Mark Lewman of Cottage Grove and Steve Lewman of Hesperia, Calif., seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

As per his request, after cremation, no services will be held.
