Elisa and I dated for a few months in our Junior Year, she was very sweet! I've told a story about her and I for many years; We were in my '67 Mustang going to a movie on Holt Avenue in Ontario when a drunk driver in an old pick-up truck ran the light at San Antonio Avenue into us, my car was totaled as we spun around in the intersection and Elisa's forehead was cut from falling forward hitting the window crank. Police and Fire fighters and an ambulance came but Elisa took an ice pack from the corner liquor store who helped before the ambulance arrived. She insisted on her Dad who was a Doctor provide her care, so we contacted my Mom who picked us up and drove us to her house where I met him for the first time asking if he would put the required stitches in her forehead! He said sure, but Elisa then jumped in front of me to explain to her Mom who was running to the door to attack me because she assumed I had caused the accident. We went to the Dad's Office and she recovered, and I believe we even had a couple more dates... Bob Nelson, Oceanside, California. Class of 1970. We didn't keep in touch after high school, it would be great if someone could fill in a bit of her life after High School.
I never met Elisa, but her husband - Don Simkins - was a colleague of mine until he retired. They had a daughter. They spent many years living in Australia. Don and their daughter still live in Melbourne.
