He worked as a part time director for episodes of Sergeant Preston of the Yukon and The Living Bible.

Appeared in films like The Story of Louis Pasteur (1936), The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), Dick Tracy Returns (1938 serial), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), The Fighting 69th (1940), The Green Hornet Strikes Again! (1940 serial), Citizen Kane (1941), Badlands of Dakota (1941), The Devil and Daniel Webster (1941), Remember Pearl Harbor (1942), Cat People (1942), Billy Wilder's Sunset Blvd. (1950), Them! (1954), and A Star is Born (1954) with Judy Garland.

Edward "Eddie" Dew passed away in 1972.  His ashes are scattered in California.
