Linda was born Linda Marshall in Arcadia, CA. to Andrew Steven (Steve) Marshall and Patricia Jean (Foddrell) Marshall. She grew up in Claremont, CA and attended Claremont High, both the old school house and new campus. She attended DVC in Concord, CA.

She married Bob Newton of Whittier, CA in Frankfurt, Germany in 1969.

She is survived by husband Bob, her two children, Aaron P Newton and Shauna Kristine (Newton) Carrillo. 4 grand children, AJ Newton of Las Vegas, Shawn Carrillo, Justin Carrillo and Aubrey Carrillo of Seymour, IN. Brother Scott Marshall of Sacramento, Sister Marianne Algeier of Auburn, CA, her Mother and the entire McKinley clan across the planet.

Linda was a seamstress by profession and made custom clothing for an exclusive clientele. She was an accomplished chef, gardener, furniture refinisher, an athlete who skied, water-skied, hiked, camped and boated.

A memorial will be held on Sunday the 12th of August at 11:00 AM at Pacific Palms Resort in the Pavilion in City of Industry. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to City of Hope.
