Principal of John Burroughs High School in Burbank for many years until retirement. Ranked in State -- Pole Vaulter for Claremont HS and Cal State Fresno.
Enthusiastic collector of antique toys. Devoted father and grandfather.
Survived by sisters Heather Buchanan Bernard (CHS ’63), Madeleine Buchanan Landess (CHS ’66) Three Children: Megan, Patrick, and Ryan.

I was a freshman when Tim was a senior. He mentored me in pole vault. I remember vividly going to the Santa Barbara Easter Relays. I studied his technique and tried to copy it. I have fond memories of pole vault starting at the first of every meet and making the rest of the team wait until the vault was over - sorry guys!
