Jon Stephen Schwertfeger - Class Of 1966 VIEW PROFILE

Jan 1, 1948 - July 10, 2014

Jon Stephen Schwertfeger, 66, of Calimesa, California, after a long battle with cancer, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at his home in Calimesa.

Steve was born in Pomona, California on January 1, 1948, to the late Stella Schwertfeger and the late Albert Schwertfeger. He was a graduate of Claremont High School in Claremont, California.

Steve was a loyal and dedicated entrepreneur in the insurance industry for 42 years. He was a self made business man; owned liquor stores and worked with Southern California Edison before getting into insurance. In 2009, Steve opened Farmers Insurance in Banning, California.

Steve loved bowling and had many perfect games. He loved all outdoor activities, but his greatest passions were his flowers and trees. No matter where he lived, Steve always planted his myrtle trees. He loved fine wine and fine restaurants, enjoyed his prime rib or rib eyes and enjoyed cruising in his Mercedes-Benz. Most of all, Steve loved his wife Shirley and was a wonderful husband, friend and partner. He was the voice of reason, always dependable, calm, cool, collected, hardworking and dedicated. Steve was a soft spoken warm gentle giant, trustworthy and by the books. He always wanted to do things the right way. Steve's friendliness and kindness to all people, and his devotion and love for his pets, Solo and Cooper, as well as to his family, is a tribute to the beauty of his heart and soul. His inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.

Steve is survived by his wife of 16 years, Shirley Ann Schwertfeger; children Jeff and Sean Schwertfeger and Billy and Jennifer Espinosa; his grandchildren Blain and Alec Schwertfeger and his great grandchildren Attilynn and Lilly.

Memorial service Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 1:00pm at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California.

Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, California.
