Gussie "Jean" Cleveland (Sullivan) - Class Of 1941

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the New Sardis Baptist Church in Mount Olive for Gussie Jean Cleveland Sullivan, 91, of Dalton, Georgia and formerly of Hattiesburg, who passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home.

Reverend David McCord will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the New Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sullivan, a San Bernardino, California native, retired as a budget analyst after twenty plus years of service for the United States Army. She was a member of the New Sardis Baptist Church in Mount Olive. As a Hattiesburg resident, Mrs. Sullivan enjoyed her Sunday School class at Immanuel Baptist Church and was an active member of the local chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). She was a wonderful homemaker and cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Gray Cleveland and Eula May Edwards Cleveland; her husband, Kenneth Keith Sullivan; one son, Kenneth C. Sullivan, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Ann Sullivan of Varnell, Georgia, Fred and Margaret Sullivan of Lehman, Pennsylvania, and Alice Sullivan of Ruskin, Florida; six grandchildren, Molly Sullivan, Caleb Sullivan, Elizabeth Sullivan, Catherine Sullivan, Sheri Sullivan DiGiulio, and Ernie Cooper; and two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Migueles and Erik Sullivan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the New Sardis Baptist Church in Mount Olive. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.billymkingcolonialchapel.com
