Penny was married at age 21 to her High School classmate, Rhey Solomon. Penny was very active as a Girls Scout leader and trainer for over 40 years. She had varied careers starting with the Tucson and San Diego Police Departments as a dispatcher and eventually working for the Postal Service in Albuquerque, NM and Reston, VA as a bulk mail supervisor.

Penny retired from the Postal Service in 2004 and devoted her efforts to leading Girl Scouts and Girl Scout training for adult troop leaders. Penny was also involved with weaving, embroidering, and various creative crafts. Penny suffered from Myasthenia gravis (MG) which eventually led to other health issues and finally to a series of strokes which took her life.

Penny is survived by her husband, Rhey Solomon, class of 64 Daughter, Rhonda, and son, Scott
