Toni Elizabeth Campbell (Butler)

Jul 16, 1955 - Jun 15, 2008

Toni Elizabeth Butler, 52, of 5551 E. Elmwood St. passed away on June 15, 2008 in the loving arms of her husband and parents.

Toni leaves behind her husband George H. Butler III and her daughters Alison Marie Jones and Kathryn Grace Butler. She also is survived by her son-in-law Chris Jones, her parents James Edward Campbell Sr. and Betty Ann Campbell and also her brother James E. Campbell Jr., his wife Debbie and son Alan.

Toni grew up in Claremont, California and was married in the Claremont Presbyterian Church in August 1975. In 1985 she and her family moved from California to Mesa, Arizona and raised a family in a beautiful suburb 3 miles from George's work. Toni courageously battled breast cancer for 5 years. In that period she valued her time and accomplished many of her life's goals. Both her daughters graduated with honors from college and Alison married Christopher J. Jones. Toni was never afraid to die and thoroughly prepared herself for the journey. She never liked the idea of saying "good bye", but rather, embraced the classic lyric, "Happy Trails to You, Until We Meet Again", (the Roy Rogers theme song).

Toni insists that we will all meet again in heaven. Toni was a kind, sensitive and dedicated mother and a dear wife who put everyone before herself. Toni met her husband George at a Claremont High School "Sock hop" dance October, 1971. They have been inseparable ever since. Toni was a gourmet cook, an avid reader, a creative artist and a wonderful friend who enjoyed a great conversation over a glass of Chardonnay. Toni's passing will have a profound effect on all those who shared in her life.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at Toni's home in Mesa, AZ, June 22nd, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Chaplain Bruce Nelson (Hospice of the Valley) will reside over Toni's family and friends. Looking forward to seeing you at 5551 E. Elmwood St. Mesa, AZ, 85205, (480) 981-6352. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of the Valley *, (602) 530-6900. * Our many thanks and deepest gratitude goes to Hospice of the Valley. Hospice provided Toni and her family with love, care and guidance during this heartfelt and emotional time.
