Tanda Kay Pratt, 60, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014, near Baker City, Oregon, from injuries sustained in a wildlife-caused traffic accident.
Tanda was born on May 15, 1954, in Boise, Idaho, to David and Wilma Ogle. She was the oldest of four children and the first grandchild on both the Ogle and Waite sides of the family. Her two sisters and brother always looked up to her as their strong, brave big sister who inspired them and looked out for them. From age four to seventeen, Tanda lived in Blackfoot, attending Southgate Elementary, Blackfoot Junior High and Blackfoot High School through her junior year. Tanda was a gifted athlete, setting records in track and competing on a winning volleyball team. She was a member of the Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church and active in the youth group.
Moving to Claremont, California, with her family in August 1971, she graduated from Claremont High School in 1972. Returning to Idaho, she completed a business program at Idaho State University and went to work for the State of Idaho Farmers Home Loan Administration in Blackfoot.
On November 29, 1974, Tanda married Joe Lynn Pratt, her high school sweetheart and they settled in Blackfoot. On June 10, 1984, Tanda and Joe welcomed their son Todd into their lives. Tanda and Joe have been inseparable for over 40 years, owning and operating Pratt Truck Service together for close to 30 years.
Passionate about outdoor activities, Tanda enjoyed riding and racing snowmobiles and motorcycles, camping, boating, waterskiing, fishing, and bowling with her Pratt Truck Service bowling team for over 30 years. She was happiest when in the company of good friends and family - whether pursuing an outdoor adventure, following Joe and Todd in their motorcycle racing pursuits, or hosting a gathering in her home. Tanda was a caring and positive influence on those who entered her life professionally and personally through her optimistic, enthusiastic outlook. All who knew Tanda agree that she loved and lived life to its fullest.
Tanda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joe L. Pratt; her son, Todd, both of Blackfoot; parents, David and Wilma Ogle of Claremont, California; two sisters, Jenny Teresi of Claremont, California and Allison (John) Rodriguez of Marina Del Rey, California; nieces, Jennifer Teresi and Joanna (Steve) Schaefer; nephew, Noah Rodriguez; great-nephew, Ethan Schaefer; great-niece, Leah Schaefer; aunts, uncles, and cousins; members of the Pratt family, including mother-in-law, Connie Pratt; brothers-in-law, Robert (Barbara) and Dennis (Teresa) Pratt; and their families, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear close friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey David Ogle; paternal grandparents, Bus and Phyllis Ogle; maternal grandparents, Ray and Linda Waite; father-in-law, Lenny Pratt; and brother-in-law, Tommy Pratt.
The family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and concern. In order to provide recovery time for Joe and Todd, the family will visit with friends at a viewing on Sunday, September 7,2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling, Blackfoot, Idaho 83221, and one hour prior to services.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 8, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot, followed by a buffet at the Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church, adjacent to Hawker Funeral Home, at 168 South University, Blackfoot.

Tanda Kay Pratt, 60, killed, Todd B. Pratt, 30, Joe L. Pratt, 61, Austin B. Parker, 23, injured in crash caused by elk on Interstate 84 in Baker City on July 26
A woman who died in a wildlife-caused traffic accident west of Baker City on Interstate 84 Saturday evening has been identified as a 60-year-old from Blackfoot, Idaho.
Tanda Kay Pratt died after being taken to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City after the crash. Oregon State Police on Monday afternoon released her name and that of three others involved in the crash.
All were riding in the same vehicle when it rolled about 10:38 p.m. Saturday. The incident took place near milepost 294 in Baker County.
Troopers who investigated the crash said that it happened when a 2010 Ford F350 pickup truck being driven eastbound on the freeway by Todd B. Pratt, 30, of Blackfoot, struck an elk, causing the driver to lose control. The truck then went off the pavement and into the median. The truck and a 2001 Xtreme camper trailer it was pulling rolled over and came to rest in the median.
All four people in the truck were seriously injured. Todd Pratt and rear passenger Joe L. Pratt, 61, both also of Blackfoot, were taken by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Austin B. Parker, 23, of Pocatello, Idaho, was taken to the Baker City hospital. Parker had been riding in the front seat with Todd Pratt, while Joe Pratt and Tanda Pratt were in the back seat.
As of Monday afternoon, Joe Pratt was in critical condition, Todd Pratt was in serious. Parker had been treated and released by Monday afternoon.
Troopers from the La Grande Area Command office and Baker City troopers are investigating. The accident temporarily closed the westbound lanes of the freeway.
