Dr. Thomas Wray Hauch, 63, son of Dr Edward and Mary Jean Hauch, passed away November 9, 2009, after a battle with cancer. He had worked in Charlotte, NC as an oncologist since 1977. He founded his own practice, Carolinas Cancer Care, in 1994. He was always upbeat and pos itive and was known for his unique sense of humor. It was his life's work to be a source of comfort and hope for his patients and their families through every stage of treatment. He will be remembered not only as a fine doctor, but as a good friend to all.

Born in Rochester, MN, he was raised in Claremont and was a 1964 graduate of Claremont High School. An active member of Boy Scouts, he was very proud of achieving Eagle Scout. He graduated with honors from Pomona College in 1968 and subsequently from N orthwestern Medical School as a member of the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. He was a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology and was a board member of the North Carolina Oncology Society.

He is survived by his wife Karon; father Dr. Edward Hauch of Pomona, CA; daughters Kimberly Hauch LaMore, and Kathryn Hauch; son-in-law David LaMore and grand son Colby; stepsons Jamie Watts and Michael Watts; and brother Dr. Richard Hauch of Sacramento, CA. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jean Hauch and sister, Sandra Hauch.
