Dr. James H. “Jim” Seubold, age 66, a resident of Plainfield, IL, formerly of Naperville, IL, died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 24, 1946 in Santa Monica, CA.

Beloved husband of Pamela (nee Tremain) Seubold, whom he married September 25, 1981, loving father of Wayne A. Heusel of Chicago, Stephanie M. Heusel of Chicago and Kristin M. (fiancé, Patrick Joyce) Seubold of Chicago, devoted son of the late Frank and Helen (nee Winters) Seubold, brother of Mary Seubold of California, son-in-law of Lowell and Marie Tremain of Streator, IL brother-in-law of Linda Broad of Streator and Dewayne Tremain of Paxton, IL.

Jim grew up in Claremont, CA where he was a member of the Claremont High School Class of 1963. He was a graduate of Harvard University in Cambridge with a degree in Biological Sciences where he was captain of the swim team his senior year and spent a year in Sweden doing Bio-Chemical research after graduating in 1967. Jim received his doctorate from UCLA Medical School and performed his fellowship/internship at Baylor University in Houston, TX. He served in the United States Public Health Service/Indian Health Services as a General Medical Officer during the Vietnam War.

Jim continued his career in medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator, IL where he worked as Medical Director of the Respiratory Therapy Department, ran a private practice, and served as Chief of Staff. Jim and his family moved to Naperville in 1992 where he continued to practice medicine and was affiliated with Edward Hospital in Naperville, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Lung Association and Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Naperville. Jim enjoyed gardening, puzzles, traveling, golf, tennis, and skiing. He excelled at sports and was a California state swimming champion in high school.

Funeral Information

Visitation Monday, January 28, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road (Corner of Rts. 30 & 59), Plainfield.

Funeral Services will follow Monday, 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Tom Grevlos officiating.

Interment: Private.
