John "Jack" Raymond Witham, age 63, a 10-year resident of Laughlin, Nev., passed away Friday, August 19, 2011, in Bullhead City, Ariz. 

He was born in southern California in 1947, and raised in Claremont, Calif. He graduated from Claremont High School in 1966. 

Jack served for four years (1966-1970) in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was trained as a helicopter mechanic, served in Vietnam, and was discharged honorably. 

As a civilian, Jack worked in various positions involving electrical, air conditioning, and telephone services. He was employed by the Riverside Casino, in Laughlin, Nev., at the time of his death.

His passion was playing golf. He earned varsity letters in golf each year in high school, and played at Citrus Junior College. As an adult, he regularly played in local and regional amateur/club tournaments.

Jack was married twice and had no children. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Alfred Witham, in 1968, and his mother, Rosemary Smith Witham, in 2000. His surviving brother, James Herbert Witham, resides in Troy, Idaho.
