Susan Ann Lett (Thomas) - Class Of 1962

Susan Ann Lett (Thomas)

May 24, 1944 - Jul 28, 2021

Susan Ann Thomas (Lett) passed away in her sleep July 28, 2021, after a short illness.

Sue was born in 1944 in Los Angeles, California. She always said she was born on Wilshire Blvd. and raised two blocks from the Rose Parade. Sue was a wonderful wife to Ron Thomas, attentive daughter, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, fabulous sister and friend to many. Sue was a beloved active community leader in North Pinellas County. She was past president of the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce, past Tarpon Springs Rotary President, and active in the Friends of The Library. Sue was also very involved in both the Tarpon Springs and Dunedin Fine Arts Center.

She was an accomplished and awarded nature photographer. Sue never met a stranger she could not befriend. Her light spread wherever she was and will be eternally missed by so many people who she touched throughout her life's journey. As Sue would say, "Life is a hoot." That is how she lived her life. Sue was an avid animal and bird lover. Her family would like donations or gifts sent to the Audubon Society and The SunCoast Animal League of Palm Harbor.

I was so sorry to hear of Sue's passing.  She was a friend and Classmate at CHS.  She invited me go to the Sadie Hawkins Day dance.  Everybody dressed up and we had a lot of laughs.  Later we and many other classmates were reunited on Facebook.  A few years ago she and her husband Ron came to Montana where I was living at the time.  It was great showing them both around the community of Bigfork and a particular treat taking them on a tour of  Glacier National Park incluing driving the length of spectacular "Going to the Sun" road.  She was a wonderful photographer and took lots of pictures. My sincere condolences to her family and all who knew her.  She will me missed.

What a nice tribute to Susan.  And how nice that Gary was in touch with her over the years.  Reading the tribute I wish I'd had the good fortune to have stayed in touch with her as well.  She clearly had a full and rich life.
