WHO ARE WE?
The CHS Wolfpack Alumni Society is an association of Claremont High School alumni from the school's inception in 1911 to present day. The Society was founded in February, 2011, by a group of alumni volunteers from several CHS classes to commemorate the school's 100th anniversary.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Our goal is to become a forum for Wolfpack alumni to find and communicate with each other, know about Alumni events, and become a resource to support the needs and activities of Claremont High School. We intend to accumulate complete rosters for all CHS classes, scan and upload all CHS yearbooks, post alumni news and photos, and foster the spirit of Pack Pride that has been the hallmark of our Alma Mater.
Celebrating the CHS Centennial in 2011 included participation in Claremont and CHS events, and the Society was named by the City as Honored Community Group for the July 4 festivities. The first ever ALL-Alumni Reunion October 28-30 brought alumni "home" to Claremont for 3 days of Homecoming activities and a reunion party of 250 alumni, families & friends.
HOW DO WE HELP CHS?
We support the CHS Theatre Renovation Project and encourage Alumni to donate to the $1.5 million matching grant challenge. Click Theatre Renovation on the left for more details. In November, 2011, we donated $3,500 to the CHS Theatre Renovation Project from proceeds of the Reunion and other events. Future support of CHS will be directed as needed by the school.

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) Centennial
Many of us were active in Scouting in Claremont. In a move designed to focus national attention on girls and the issues they face, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) has declared 2012 the Year of the Girl: a celebration of girls, recognition of their leadership potential, and a commitment to creating a coalition of like-minded organizations and individuals in support of balanced leadership in the workplace and in communities across the country.
GSUSA prepares to celebrate its centennial in 2012, using this important moment in its history to launch a major initiative to change the landscape for girls and young women. During the Year of the Girl, local Girl Scout offices nationwide will mix celebrations of the organization's 100 years as the premier leadership experience for girls with efforts to create a sense of urgency around girls' issues.

WHERE WE'VE BEEN...
October 28-29, 2011
ALL Alumni Homecoming Reunion!
It's all over and we had a BLAST! Alumni from 1941 through 2011 attended & looked like they already knew each other! Hugs & laughter ruled the evening, and for those who missed it - too bad!
POST YOUR PHOTOS in our Photo Galleries
(click link on the left).
Congratulations to us ALL!
Not only did we have a wonderful, fun ALL-Alumni reunion, we actually made money! On behalf of the CHS Wolfpack Alumni Society, on November 17 we donated $3,500 to the CHS Theatre Renovation Project – which means $7,000 for the project with the matching grant from the State of California! CHS still needs donations to meet the full amount of the $1.5 Million grant, so if you are planning your year-end charitable contributions, please consider helping to meet their goal. Full details are on the Alumni website – see Theatre Renovation.
Thank you for all your help to make the CHS Alumni Society a success! Please spread the word for other alumni to log onto the website for connections, news and Alumni activities!
THANKS to those who have generously supported our Alumni Society!

Veterans Day in Memorial Park & CHS
The City of Claremont and American Legion Post 78 honored Claremont veterans at the Veteran's Day Ceremony in Memorial Park. Special recognition was made for CHS Alumni U.S. Military Veterans.
A CHS Veterans Tribute plaque was dedicated at the high school following the ceremony, and a book containing the names of over 370 CHS Veterans was presented by Ken Hargrove to Assistant Principal June Hilton.
The CHS Centennial US flag (donated by CHS Alumni Society) was raised by Lt. Colonel Mchael Mochita (CHS '62) and a young boy scout, and Chuck Yeager (CHS '42) played taps. US Army Major General Paul Mock (CHS '68) spoke of service and sacrifice of members of our Armed Forces, and of the social and employment challenges faced by returning military personnel and the need for community support to reintegrate them into the community with education, housing, and medical and financial support.
Flags from each branch of the Armed Forces flutered overhead, thanks to David Paul, Class of '60. Two members of the CHS Chamber Singers performed and the ceremony closed with the singing of the Alma Mater, led by Ruthi Dworak in memory of her brother Randall.
See Photo Galleries for pictures.
CHS Alumni Veterans or Active Military names wanted!
The CHS Veterans Roster and the In Tribute: Veterans page here will continue to grow as additional names come to light. Contact Ken Hargrove at ken.hargrove@gmail.com with names of CHS Vets to be added, or for more information.
USNS Medgar Evers Christening
The Evers Family (Reena CHS '72 & Van '76) celebrated the Christening of the USNS Medgar Evers at the NASSCO shipyard in San Diego. The U.S. Navy's newest resupply ship, USNS Medgar Evers (T-AKE 13), now carries their father's name. Mrs. Myrlie Evers-Williams, widow of Medgar Evers and the ship's sponsor, named the ship by breaking the traditional bottle of champagne against its hull.
Independence Day
Festivities & Parade!

We ate, we ran, we mingled and marched! July 4 was the usual extravagant celebration in Claremont, with thousands of participants in everything from pancakes to fireworks. The CHS Wolfpack Alumni Society was chosen as the HONORED COMMUNITY GROUP for Claremont's Independence Day Celebration and we had a constant crowd at the Alumni Society/CHS Theatre booth to see a collection of historic photos and pick up Alumni Society buttons and parade flags! We collected 239 names of Alumni to add to our rosters.

Dana Lewis '82 and Teacher of the Year Krista Carson Elhai '78, sport their Alumni Society buttons with Dana's daughter Emily, who helpd kids make their own buttons at our booth.
Jerry James '51 brought two of his vintage cars for the parade and about 30 alumni marched alongside to the cheers of enthusiastic crowds.
